High-scoring matches today

2 min read

Three games were played in Men’s Besta deildin today. All games were high-scoring matches.

KA met IA today at home. KA is in the top battle while IA is at the bottom and in the relegation area. They lost a player out after 36 minutes with a red card. The half-time score however still 0-0. Nökkvi Þeyr Þórisson has been scoring quite a few goals this season and this game was with an outstanding performance from him. He scored his first goal on 68′ minute and Hallgrímur Mar Stefánsson with KA’s second goal seven minutes later. Nökkvi Þeyr scored KA’s third goal and his second goal in the game when only four minutes were left. KA is now in 2nd place in the league three points ahead of Vikingur who has played two games less.

IBV and FH met as well. FH won its last game in the cup and fans assumed that this was the turning page for the club. They were wrong. IBV won the game 4-1 and were 3-0 in half-time and FH never stood a chance in this game. FH is only 1 point from relegation. Leiknir R has played two games less so FH is at a high risk of being relegated from the league.

Valur met Stjarnan tonight. Stjarnan scored the opening goal of the match but that was the most they did tonight and even the goal was an own goal by Valur. Valur completely dominated the game with the final score 6-1. Patrick Pedersen with a hat-trick, Tryggvi Haraldsson with two goals, and Aron Johannsson with one goal.
