Vikingur won Lech from Poland 1-0 tonight in the 1st leg of the UEFA Europa League. Vikingur was not afraid of this big club from Poland. The only goal scored in the match was by Ari Sigurpálsson in the end of first half. Ari Sigurpalsson had to go off in the 2nd half due to injury.
Lech’s best option to equalize was on the 50th when Kristoffer Velde hit the post. This was a testament of the strength of the Icelandic clubs in the European matches and we benefit the clubs and more clubs can qualify for European tournament in upcoming years.
